DIY Mother’s Day Gift: QT Basket

With Mother’s Day fast approaching (it’s a week from today), we thought it would be a good idea to share a heartfelt Mother’s Day gift, that you can do yourself, a QT Basket! I actually got this idea from my old co-worker Rachel, and fellow blogger, who made a basket similar to this for her boyfriend on Valentine’s Day.

For a QT Basket you will need:

  • A beautiful basket
  • Bag of filler
  • Ribbon
  • 12 Pretty Envelopes

If your Mom is like mine, she’s a busy bee just like me, and we rarely get to spend any quality time (QT) together. This gift is a perfect way to remedy that! Label each of the envelopes with a month, and then inside include an activity that you and your Mom will do together. It could be something as simple as “This month you and I will go out for lunch together” or “This month we will do a spa day” or if you’re feeling particular generous, “This month I’ll help you clean the attic.”

The activities are endless! You can include gift cards along with these notes if you’d like, but the point is dedicating at least 1 day a month to doing something with your Mom. She’ll be guaranteed to love it!

*Use filler and ribbon to decorate the basket.

You don’t leave in the same city or even state as your Mom? This gift idea can be easily altered, substitute activities with cards from the heart for each month so that she can be reminded every month of how much she means to you.
